Rp Judging Criteria (what we look for when you rp)
Originality-Is your rp just like everyone else's? Did you go with a different style, different way of viewing the rp?
Creativity-Did you set up a good scene? Did you just give 'straight talk" or did you do something different such as an interview format for your rp? Did you rp in a tomb in Egypt? What was happening during your rp? Did you try to really write something a reader enjoys?
Aggressiveness-Did you wait until the last day to rp on purpose? Were you going for the win? Did you go on the attack or just sit back and didn't show you wanted the win? Did you TRY to do the required amount of rps or just sit back and not get the job done? Did you finish the rp session regardless?
Sportsmanship-Did you try to sandbag? Did you respect the rules and respect your opponent? Did you pull a NO SHOW?
Quality- Did you spell correctly? Did you write the rp and organize it neatly and not just throw up a paragraph? In this day and time its no excuse to spell anything wrong with spell check. Did you use italics or bold letters? Did you care about how the rp looked?
Dialogue-Did you work to overturn objections placed by your opponent? Did you avoid talking about things that you didn't want to talk about because you just didn't want to or you couldn't? Did you address the topic or angle properly? Were you on point or really off in your own world to where it made no sense? Who were you talking to? Did you relate at all?
Understanding of Style-Talking about the opponent is a good thing but not the only style used when writing an rp. People write rps like a story, some write rps like interviews, some write rps including history or using multiple scenes. Did you consider whether or not your style is superior or is it just you wanting to stay stuck in writing an rp just one way because that is what you are used to? We will look at how you wrote things overall and how it compares to the opponent. So if your opponent's style for example is NOT to stand there blabbing about what he is going to do to you, that does not mean his rp is pointless. We look at a balance of styles and how they relate to the situation at hand for the rp session. We know a lot of rpers who come into the game are told that "THIS" is the right way but that is a shallow way of judging rps if you think that only one way of expressing yourself should win. You have to be more open minded towards looking at an rp and unless you are understanding of that you may not grasp how some rps defeat yours. We are not here to cheat you, we are here for all to learn and enjoy different competitive styles.
Our Solidarity-Again we are independent here of whatever "said" rules that people say 'the game" is based on. No two feds will always agree on how they want to judge an rp because different feds look for different things. We reserve the right to set our own criteria and you should please be understanding of that when coming here. We stand in our individuality, not being a part of the collective way of thinking that someone is "supposed" to follow when judging. We built what we learned as members in the OWC by wanting to break free of the 'big sites' telling you what is right or wrong. So we embrace free thinking and this helps us be what we feel is way more fair towards your work and your rps when you compete.
