The Minors (Los Vatos Locos)
What more can be said about a team that needs no introduction? Its merely a loss of words but if respect means anything in this day and time, they have it and if the word champion means anything to you then they surely would be a fine example of that. In the past few years this team has been in federation after federation and won titles nearly everywhere they went, CWWF, UWA, RRWF and SCWF to name a few. They started off humbly from my recollection of them and the CWWF were their first stomping grounds, they never got a chance to fufill their dream of becoming CWWF tag team champions the first time mainly due to the unfortunate closing of the fed yet when it was reborn they did realize their dream. The handler, John came up with the concept for this team and they sold and sold well. Before you knew it everybody was talking about them and the great work he did to promote them and take on the best competiton out there. The Minors are not a legendary team just because they rped here but mainly because of the impact and support John has shown to every fed he has been in. He has an immaculate reputation as a stand up guy and he doesn’t have the flaw of only wanting to be in a BIG fed or its not worth it.
He’s one of the most humble guys I know. Yet, when it comes to rping he is not humble. The Minors built a legacy of just flat out being one of the best teams out there and to this day they are the only TRUE tag team legends of the SCWF as nobody can touch them yet. Its not their fault, its just that they put a work ethic in motion that you rarely see in this day and time. The Minors are the kind of team that would not take NO for an answer, if they could beat you they would keep coming until they did and to have seen this man go as far back as 1999 was everything it should have been. Breathtaking, amazing and just flatout out excellent work that helped people see that tag team wrestling is not dead and that its how you do it. John knew how and still KNOWS how to do it and I dare say that there is NO tag team out there that the Minors could not beat. They don’t accept being second best and the writer of the characters made sure that was embodied. When it came to setting a standard in every fed, John was the kind of guy that didn’t complain, he didn’t balk if he lost. He just kept getting up and taking care of business and thought about ways to beat you. He’s intelligent and creative and can counteract nearly any attack on his team as an rper and he effectively used that when he captured the RRWF world tag team titles. Little did anyone know that the RRWF would be the basis for the Minors to rise to the status they had wanted. They came to the RRWF and unless I am wrong the RRWF Tag Team Titles were the first tag team titles they ever won and what happened after that was purely historic. It was a grand show of yesteryear as they took on team after team after team and to this day they hold the record of the longest tag team reign in history in the RRWF/SCWF 4 months and 24 days and people have come close to breaking it but nobody since they set this record in 2002 have been able to beat it.
It for a while seemed like they actually WERE unbeatable and they kept on knocking down whomever came at them, they actually did not care and for the first time in a long while we had a dominant tag team that were good guys for one…(picture that) and actually had a very high profile. In this day and time with everyone not wanting to pick a side and not wanting to make a stand on anything they are or are supposed to be the Minors stuck to their guns and didn’t go with trying to jump sides just to get shot at a belt or otherwise. Their success had preceded them. Yet it was not until a team came out of nowhere that all the glory would end or so it would seem. They did lose the RRWF tag team titles but still went on after the SCWF was born from the ashes of the RRWF to produce some of the most thrilling rp work ever seen.
They had an absolutely LEGENDARY fued with a team called V2 and that set the precendent for the presitige of the RRWF/SCWF tag team titles. What makes the handlers work so important is that without his time and intervention there more than likely would NEVER have been as much respect and desire to hold the tag team titles. A fed can only put it out there but it takes good solid work to make titles mean something and believe me, the handler did. He took it there and back and he walked the walk and talked it. If you even thought about tag team wrestling the name of the Minors had to be stated. They may have reached prominence in other places but they became legends here. For that I am honored and for that it shows us that we can help put out quality work to support the genius of a handler that showed that tag team wrestling IS a main event and shall always be as long as guys like him are around.
The handler John is one of the coolest guys in the efed world I have ever known. He always had respect for the RRWF/SCWF and always gave support and time behind the scenes when he could. He never looked down on the fed that worked with him because he helped build it up. It was a great run while they were tag team champions because he brought the excitement and the creativity needed unlike any man before him. He cares about people, he will stand with you and overall he’s a great friend. Many many nights he would be the kind of person to talk to that understood just about anything anybody was going through and offered a kind word. He could have turned his back totally on this fed but even after leaving for a while he still came back, cleaned the slate and moved on into more competiton. That takes moxy, it takes guts and it takes overall a hell of a guy to do. So it’s the least I can do to immortalize him and his great tag team here at the SCWF because had it not been for the work he put in we may not have ever been able to take it to the next level. Here is to you John and many many thanks for all you have done for the SCWF and in the time you have given your undying support. You made it all worth it and you made tag team wrestling great for the SCWF and deserve your status as a legend we applaud you many times over! Thanks for all the memories you created and the future ones you will continue to create!
They to this day were the toughest team I ever rped against, thank you time and time again for helping me become the rper that I once was. TGD vs The Minors...wow..the memories..welcome to the hall of fame..you are welcome in this house...
